FISH FOOD
Wild Caught Fish From the Upper Mississippi River Valley
THE FISHERMAN
With a Fisher-Price butterfly net, Tyler Kutscheid began fishing at the age of six. After a brief 34 year stint fishing with a rod and reel, Tyler returned to nets and started commercially fishing on the Mississippi in 2024.

His goal is to bring high quality, local, and underutilized fish to Twin Cities grocers, restaurants and, ultimately, consumers! This effort is born out a belief in local economies and that consumption and conservation aren't in conflict but, if done thoughtfully, reinforce each other.

THE FISH
Fish Food focuses on five species: Smallmouth Buffalo, Flathead Catfish, Channel Catfish, Freshwater Drum, and Silver Carp.

Utilizing a Japanese technique called Ike Jime, our fish get the same treatment any high end sushi restaurant would require. Upon entering the boat, the fish are humanely killed, bleed, and iced. This leads to a firmer, better tasting fish that is less prone to spoilage.
